Galileo, the first modern scientist
I didn’t know that Galileo could be considered the “first modern scientist.” Interesting. (I knew he was important, obviously, but I only thought of him as an astronomer who had a big fight with the Catholic church.)
Galileo, the man who put all these ideas into practice at one time or another in the course of his life, was the first ‘modern’ scientist, the first to apply recognizably modern scientific methods to the study of nature.
