Gamer ★★☆☆☆ Not much fun
A dystopia featuring deep social dysfunction from the virtualization of life, especially gladiatorial video gaming with live avatars, enslaved convicts, subject to the whims and reflexes of the gamer. It was creative like a hallucination, “interesting” like a vivisection, exciting like getting the crap beaten out of you. A fascinating film project, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone I know.
Of course, I wouldn’t watch most slasher flicks. Maybe this was a hit with its target market? Probably.
