People who are bad with computers are “worse than you think”

It’s not at all surprising that the distribution of users’ computer skills is worse than you think. But it is nevertheless amazing how vast a gap there is between the computer skills haves and have nots. I frequently encounter customers whose naiveté is so extreme it’s heartbreaking. Their ignorance of their computer is as profound as owning a car without knowing how to start it or roll down the windows.
