Sherlock Holmes: ★★☆☆☆

The Sherlock sequel (“A Game of Shadows”) is too clever by 90%, an incomprehensible and hectic jumble, with not much and no one to care about — elaborate plotting can never be dramatically satisfying in itself. But it was also gorgeous, relentlessly creative, with great performances. It’s almost worth it just to see Downey bantering with his supporting cast. Almost.
