Three more ways masks help prevent Covid infection ∞
Some useful research insights into how the virus transmits, and all contributing to the case for masking:
- FLUSHING is an effective aerosolizer, making public washrooms big sources of airborne transmission. Masks essential!
- DRIER AIR seems to facilitate aerosolization, whereas more humid air results in larger droplets that are don’t float as far and are more easily trapped by masks.
- DUST is a vector: the virus hitches rides on particles, so beware of dust in busy public areas. Fortunately, masks are good at stopping dust.
It’s all about the floating! And floating is facilitated by flushing, low humidity, and dust. And surely more. “We all float down here, Georgie.” And now everywhere…
